LAW OF NICHE

When people aren't where they do things well, things don't turn out well.

The WRONG PERSON in the WRONG PLACE = REGRESSION
The WRONG PERSON in the RIGHT PLACE = FRUSTRATION
The RIGHT PERSON in the WRONG PLACE = CONFUSION
The RIGHT PERSON in the RIGHT PLACE = PROGRESSION
The RIGHT PEOPLE in the RIGHT PLACES = MULTIPLICATION

LET'S BE THE FIRE!!!

They tell you where you need to go
They tell you when you need to leave.
They tell you what you need to know
They tell you who you need to be.

But everything inside you
Knows there's more than what you've heard
There's so much more than empty conversations
Filled with empty words

And you're on fire
When He's near you
You're on fire when He speaks
You're on fire burning at these mysteries.

Give me one more time around
Give me one more chance to see.
Give me everything You are
Give me one more chance to be near You.

When everything inside me
Looks like everything I hate
You are the hope I have for change
You are the only chance I'll take

And I'm on fire when You're near me
I'm on fire when You speak
I'm on fire burning at these mysteries

I'm standing on the edge of me,
I'm standing on the edge of everything I've ever been
And I've been standing at the edge of me,
standing at the edge

Tolerance

I have learnt silence from the talkative,
toleration from the intolerant,
and kindness from the unkind;
yet strange,
I am ungrateful to these teachers.

Here and Now

Mark Twain said, “I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened.”

These words hold great wisdom; the wisdom of knowing that there is no sense worrying about the past or fearing the future.

Your past will not change, and your future concerns may never come.

Many people spend a great deal of time and energy thinking about past problems and future concerns while the present is passing them by.

Remember the "here and now" is a gift, which is why they call it the "present."

Treat it like a present, enjoy it to the fullest and make the most of it.

Don’t let your life pass you by, focus on the present and do the things you never thought you could possibly achieve! (Tumatanda ka na no?!) Car pe diem!

To all that has been, thanks.
To all that will be, fiat.

It is by what we ourselves have done, and not by what others have done for us, that we shall be remembered in after ages.

Nursing, A Profession and a Vocation.

Nursing, A Profession and a Vocation.

Oftentimes we come across with this query, "Why do you want to be a nurse?"

In this inquiry we find answers that says of what we want in our future, which are, a stable job abroad and financial freedom.

But, are these the reasons why we are all here? Why we chose this course and burn off the night light for study?

Less than two years of my stay here, I have realized that nursing is not just another job, not just another mode to earn a living which we will attain in the future. We are so naïve to the fact that Nursing is a vocation in its fullest and truest sense. It is a vocation because if we are to embrace this profession, it will be our response to Christ's call for charity. Whatever we have done to the sickest, we did it for God.

Yes, you have endured training and study to fully equip you to carry on your tasks pragmatically and competently. Still and all, there is something more to these-- study and practice. The "know how" and the skill is significant, yet the "know why" is essential.

Nursing is more than a profession. It is a vocation, a dedication, a consecration. "Vocation" means God's own choosing of a way of life in which a man or woman will best serve God and neighbor. In time, you will become certified nurses just as I am when we graduate in this school. Because God wants us to serve Him as His servants, I believe that the times ahead, will sway your being that Nursing is the best medium where you can fulfill the will of God, that is to serve our neighbor, and in so doing attain a dimension of  happiness and eternal happiness thereafter.

You, as we all are gathered here, are destined to do the work of God in serving Him, in the person of His friends, the sick, the unfortunate and the afflicted. You will help them go to their own Calvary. Like Mother Mary is to the Infant Jesus, to the suffering and dying Jesus. Her presence helps people to endure especially His disciples. Like Veronica, you will soothe their wounds. Like Simon of Cyrine, you will help them bear their cross. Like Mother Theresa is to the poorest of the poor. The only pleasing life is a life of service and perhaps the greatest possible service is to the sick. There is no profession that so closely follows in the footsteps of Christ than the work of healing.

If this is the spirit, the objective and the reason why you are to walk and carry on this road, then your cap will be a crown for a head of wisdom, hands abundant of healing, and a heart flowing of understanding and patience.

Clearly I say to you now, look up and take to heart this endeavor as a vocation to realize. Grasp this tenet, and open yourselves to a life in which the problem of pain asserts a different meaning, where the enigma of suffering is seen and understood, where you are one with the suffering and healing Christ.

As your own Graduation comes to a close, I bequeath to you, an emblem of Christ's mark of true success in life--- His victory on the cross. A remembrance that the life you have chosen is a life of suffering, death and resurrection.

Of love and shadows

Of love and shadows

In thinking of your past love, you may view it as a failure. But when you find a new one, you suddenly see this failure as a teacher. In the game of love, it doesn't really matter who won or who lost. What is important is you know when to hold on and when to let go! You know you really love someone when you want him or her to be happy, even if his or her happiness means not being part of it.

Everything happens for the best. If the person you love doesn't love you back, don't be afraid to love someone else again; you'll never know if it will be returned unless you give it a try. You never really loved unless you risk for it.

Love strives and grows in hurting. If you don't get hurt, you don't learn how to love. Love doesn't hurt all the time. The hurting is there to test you and help you grow. You cannot finish a book without closing its chapters. To move on, you have to leave the past in the same way you turn the pages.

Love is not destroyed by a single failure or won by a single caress. It is a lifetime venture wherein we are always learning, discovering and growing.

Love's greatest irony is letting go when you need to hold on and/or holding on when you need to let go. Loving people means giving them the freedom to choose whom and where they want to be, regardless whether those choices lead towards or away from you.

We lose someone we love only when we are destined to find someone else who can love us even more than we can love ourselves.

Don't find love, let love find you. That's why it's called `falling in love' because you don't force yourself to fall. You just fall.

In falling out of love, take some time to heal and then get back. But don't make the same mistake of going with the same one that first threw you.

Reaching for another risks involvement. To expose your feelings is to expose your true self.

Loving again risks rejections, in the same way that life risks death and hope risks failure. But risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is risking-and reaching for-nothing!

How to define love? It means falling but not stumbling, being constant but not too persistent, sharing and never being unfair, understanding and trying not to demand-and hurting without keeping the pain.

Love is like a knife. It can stab the heart or carve into the soul wonderful images that last for a lifetime. It can hurt your heart, fill you with desire, and tear you apart.

Love should inspire you and give you joy and strength. Though the very things that do so can also hurt you in the end. For all the heartaches and tears, the gloomy days and fruitless years-give thanks, for these were the things which helped you grow.

Love requires that certain risks be taken, matter how scary or painful. Only then will you experience the fullness of your humanity.

If you're not ready to cry, take risks, to feel the pain-then you're not ready to fall in love.

When you decide to love, allow it to grow and refuse to let it die...
